Sample Preparation Technician I

About the role

This position is within the Sample Prep Department on the 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM). You will perform sample preparation and analysis while adhering to strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow Quality System documents (e.g., Quality Manual, SOPs, Methodologies).
• Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025, cGMP, GLP, and company quality requirements.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in at least one core method and conduct additional assigned methods with minimal supervision.
• Operate basic lab equipment and set up batches of samples for weighing and analysis.
• Perform timely and accurate sample analysis, including preparation, method execution, and data reduction.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including logbooks, BookMaster, and eLIMS entries.
• Identify samples requiring rechecks and report method/matrix/analytical difficulties with proposed solutions.
• Maintain clean glassware and prepare solutions for daily testing.
• Protect proprietary methodologies and disclose only as approved by management.
• Respond promptly to client, staff, and co-worker queries and needs.
• Stay current on technical, industry, and business advancements.
• Recommend improvements for laboratory equipment or procedures.
• Foster cooperative working relationships across departments.
• Uphold the company’s image through ethical business practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Associate degree or high school diploma with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
