Responsibilities
- Prepares outgoing shipments of bottle kits and coolers of samples for delivery to laboratories.
- Utilizes Eurofins LIMS system (TALs) to receive bottle orders from project managers and prepare them in kits as directed.
- Interacts with Project Managers and clients professionally.
- Communicates effectively with coworkers about order statuses.
- Restocks supplies when received.
- Verifies the validity and completeness of all bottle orders before departure.
- Maintains the shipping/receiving area for a safe work environment.
- Picks up and delivers samples and bottle orders as needed.
- Counts samples upon receipt to ensure chain of custody and sample integrity.
- Receives and signs the chain of custody.
- Ensures clients sign, date, and record time on the chain of custody when releasing samples.
- Transports samples on ice from client sites to the service center or from the service center to a subcontracted laboratory.
- Unloads samples and inspects for damage or violated hold times.
- Finds client offices/sites using maps from courier request forms.
- Records courier arrival and departure times in the courier logbook.
- Maintains vehicle maintenance records and driving mileage.
- Performs duties according to Section 14 of the Transportation and Fleet Safety manual.
- Complies with the Company’s “Driver Evaluation and Qualification Policy”.
- Maintains delivery vehicle in proper working order.
- May be assigned other sample control duties as identified by the Service Center Manager.
Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable, and positive.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Ability to read maps and follow directions.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Basic Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Additional Information
Location: Barberton, OH
Shift: 1st shift, Tuesday-Saturday 8:30 AM- 4:30 PM
Pay Range: Starts at $17.75/hr, based on experience.
Position Details: Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes only. The actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
