About the role
Entry-level sales position supporting the DIY business to achieve sales and service objectives. The role requires good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge, and basic part knowledge. Responsibilities include sourcing from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers, as well as in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. Available as part-time or full-time. Fleet safety certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store meet its sales targets.
- Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Manage inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
- Ensure store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot maintenance.
- Perform general stocking, including truck stocking and back stock.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
- Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands
The role predominantly involves walking or standing. The employee must be able to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily indoors, but occasionally involves outdoor tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades, exposing the employee to various weather conditions. The employee may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
Pay
The good faith estimate for this role is between $12.20 USD and $13.21 per hour for a new team member. The rate offered depends on geographic location, retail experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other relevant skillsets, as well as shift differential (if applicable).
