About the role

We manage the Product function within your assigned area of Market, with oversight of the product strategy and driving decision making. We work closely with Design and Engineering colleagues to lead these cross-functional teams and collaborate with Marketing, Customer/Author Success, and other stakeholders to deliver on the roadmap. We measure and report on results, especially towards group and company goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Product function within your assigned area of Market, with oversight of the product strategy and driving decision making.
• Develop a roadmap that contributes to group goals and takes into consideration the needs of Marketing, Engineering, Customer/Author Success, Design and other functions.
• Work closely with your Design and Engineering colleagues to provide leadership to these cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Customer/Author Success and other stakeholders to deliver on the roadmap.
• Consult with other key stakeholders across the business, including Legal, Finance and Analytics & Business Intelligence.
• Provide product leadership to your delivery and project team, championing the needs of the customer, authors & business.
• Direct management of two Product Managers, ensuring great people practices and providing a safe and supportive working environment.
• Ensure all members of your assigned delivery and project team(s) understand how they are contributing to group and company goals.
• Coach & mentor more junior product team members where appropriate.
• Role model our core values and help teams apply our values in day to day decision making.

Requirements

Experience in managing a Product function within a market, with a strong understanding of product strategy and decision making. Proven ability to develop and execute roadmaps that align with group and company goals. Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Engineering, Customer/Author Success, and Design. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of developing and supporting a team. Experience in managing a team of Product Managers and ensuring great people practices.

Qualifications

Education in a relevant field such as Product Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to measure and report on results towards group and company goals. Proficiency in using tools and platforms relevant to the role, such as project management software and data analysis tools.

Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in leading cross-functional teams. Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in Product Management.
