About the role
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer or Architect to support, maintain, and enhance an enterprise Salesforce platform that powers environmental grant programs and citizen-facing portals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the full Salesforce ecosystem, including low-code automation, custom Apex development, Experience Cloud, OmniStudio, Grantmaking, and Public Sector Solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Apex classes, triggers, batch and scheduled jobs, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Build and enhance Experience Cloud portals supporting citizen self-service, including program applications, document submission, voucher redemption, and status tracking.
- Develop and maintain OmniStudio solutions, including OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, and FlexCards supporting grant application workflows.
- Configure and extend Salesforce Grantmaking functionality, including funding awards, bid management, evaluation forms, and disbursement records.
- Maintain and enhance complex automation, including 130+ Salesforce Flows, scheduled batch jobs, and metadata-driven trigger frameworks.
- Maintain and extend Public Sector Solutions (PSS) functionality, including licensing, permitting, and regulatory compliance features.
- Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to translate business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain unit tests that meet code coverage standards.
- Conduct code reviews and promote Salesforce development best practices.
- Participate in release management, sandbox management, and deployment pipelines using Salesforce DX (SFDX).
Community Portal
- Enable applicant registration through an authenticated Grant Portal.
- Support updates to organization and individual user information.
- Provide access to available grant programs.
- Enable grant application submission and navigation through required forms.
- Allow users to track submitted grant applications.
- Enable document uploads through the portal requirements section.
Fund Program and Fund Request
- Support creation of multiple grant program types.
- Enable activities, Chatter, and file management for grant programs.
- Create list views for active and completed grants.
- Support customer onboarding into the organization.
- Enable grant administrators to review and process grant requests submitted through the community portal.
- Support grant approval and rejection processes.
- Integrate vehicle grant requests to retrieve required emission reduction information.
- Enable entry of awarded grant amounts.
- Support creation of requirements and milestones prior to award disbursement.
- Enable fund disbursement on yearly, monthly, weekly, and installment schedules.
Data Migration
- Import open and in-progress grants into Salesforce; closed grants will not be migrated.
- Utilize provided import templates for uploading legacy data.
- Support iterative data imports and validation.
- Collaborate on data cleansing until successful, error-free imports are achieved.
Requirements
- 4+ years of Salesforce development experience using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and Flows.
- Strong proficiency with OmniStudio, including OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, and FlexCards.
- Experience with Experience Cloud, including portal design, authentication, guest user security, and login flows.
- Experience working with Public Sector Solutions (PSS) or similar Salesforce Industry Clouds.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Grantmaking or grant lifecycle management.
- Experience building and troubleshooting complex multi-step Flows and Process Builder replacements.
- Experience with batch and scheduled Apex, platform events, and asynchronous processing patterns.
- Understanding of the Salesforce security model, including profiles, permission sets, and sharing rules for citizen-facing portals.
- Experience integrating with external document management or storage systems using REST or SOAP APIs.
- Proficiency with Salesforce DX (SFDX), Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of Salesforce development experience.
- Minimum 2 years of Experience Cloud development.
- Minimum 3 years of Public Sector Solutions (PSS) experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Certified Agentforce Specialist.
- Active Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I, Platform Developer II, or OmniStudio Consultant.
- Experience with PDF generation using Visualforce or Lightning Web Components.
- Background supporting environmental regulatory programs, government incentive programs, or permitting workflows.
- Familiarity with voucher lifecycle management, round-robin assignment patterns, or complex approval workflows.
- Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards for public-facing portals.
