About the role

At Alarm Detection Systems (ADS), we're seeking a Sales Training Specialist to prepare new sales representatives for long-term success. This role involves delivering engaging training, providing field coaching, and serving as a trusted mentor.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging onboarding programs through classroom instruction, workshops, role-playing, field training, and ride-alongs.
  • Provide individualized coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to new sales representatives throughout their onboarding experience.
  • Conduct field observations to reinforce training concepts and improve sales performance.
  • Lead prospecting and appointment-setting sessions.
  • Execute the company's sales training curriculum while ensuring consistency across all new hires.
  • Partner with the Sales Training Manager to identify development opportunities and continuously improve training programs.
  • Assist in developing and updating training materials, job aids, and learning resources.
  • Track trainee progress, completion milestones, and performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to align training initiatives with business goals and sales objectives.
  • Build strong working relationships with managers to ensure successful transitions into the field.
  • Travel regularly to ADS offices and customer locations to provide coaching and support.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating effective business-to-business sales techniques in a competitive marketplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of sales experience within the alarm or security industry is highly preferred.
  • Two or more years of outside business-to-business sales experience is required.
  • Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or onboarding sales professionals is highly preferred.
  • Experience developing or delivering structured training programs is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems and technology.

Pay

$65,000 - $75,000 annually

Schedule

This position combines office-based work, classroom instruction, field coaching, and regular travel to ADS offices and customer locations. Essential functions require travel by motor vehicle.
