Sales Trainee

About the role

The Sales Trainee will be enrolled in our 12-18 month sales training program to prepare and equip the associate with the knowledge and skills in learning the corrugated packaging industry to become a part of our successful Account Executive team.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
• Participate in a 12-18 month sales training program to prepare for a long-term position with BCI as an Account Executive or Customer Service Representative
• Meet or exceed the operating standards in the areas of sales and customer service. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the Account Executive
• Achieve in meeting or exceeding the developed professional goals set to and agreed upon between yourself and the manager
• Participate in advancing the business through new and innovative ideas
• Exhibit professional behavior at all times and treating others with respect

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (required for Account Executive position)
• Two years of outside selling or related experience – preferred, but not required
• Experience in the corrugated box industry – preferred, but not required
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record and reliable transportation

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong communication, interpersonal, listening and verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated and results‑oriented individual who can work well both independently and within a team environment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, operating instructions and training and procedure manuals
• Ability to write reports and correspondence
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, percentages and volume
• Strong attention to detail

Pay

$28 - $30 an hour; $58,000‑$62,000 per year, with quarterly bonuses
