About the role
We are looking for a Sales Support Specialist to provide dependable operational and administrative support for a fast-paced sales organization. This role works closely with sales representatives, customers, and manufacturer partners to keep programs organized, materials current, and communications flowing smoothly. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and confident working across retail or consumer packaged goods environments.
Responsibilities
- Act as the central point of coordination for the grocery sales team, ensuring day-to-day requests, updates, and administrative tasks are handled efficiently.
- Organize recurring sales meetings and conference calls, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up communication.
- Manage product sample requests and maintain the timely distribution of supporting sales collateral such as item forms, reports, and presentation materials.
- Prepare clear documents and reporting for customer meetings, business reviews, and seasonal selling initiatives.
- Maintain shared sales resources and distribute routine updates, client information, and other communications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee promotional activity within manufacturer and customer portals, including offer setup, tracking, and related documentation.
- Support forecasting, trade fund tracking, and deduction follow-up to help maintain accurate promotional and financial records.
- Set up new items and promotional programs in retailer systems while keeping customer data, planogram files, and merchandising resources up to date.
- Partner with internal teams across regional offices to resolve issues, improve workflows, and strengthen overall support for sales initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in sales support, customer service, post-sales support, or a similar coordination-focused role.
- Background in retail, food, consumer packaged goods, or related industries is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience supporting major retailers or working in environments such as warehouse clubs, grocery, or specialty food is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, with the ability to create and manage reports and business documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, sales teams, and manufacturer partners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple deadlines in a fast-moving business setting.
- High attention to detail, sound follow-through, and a self-directed approach to completing work accurately.
