Sales Strategy & Operations Business Partner
About the role
The Global GTM Operations team is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the sales organization, partnering closely with the sales team and teams across Stripe to drive initiatives. Within the Sales Strategy and Operations team, the Global Product Sales Strategy and Operations team is aligned to each of Stripe’s Product Pillars (Revenue Suite, Money Management and Payments) and focuses on partnering with both GTM and Product to drive the rhythm of business, strategic initiatives, bi-annual planning, and execution. This role advances sales policies, processes, and tools to drive revenue and growth.
As a Sales Strategy and Operations business partner, you will act as the right-hand person to your Product Sales Leader, handling planning and running their business, including org design, partner/sales coverage models, setting SOKRs, measuring performance, forecasting, and process improvement. You will collaborate with numerous cross-functional stakeholders globally, including finance operations, sales operations, professional services consulting operations, product and system operations, and customer success and renewals operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in developing go-to-market strategy, resource plan, and key performance metrics.
- Create and manage operational processes such as territory planning and target setting.
- Work cross-functionally to investigate and conduct analysis on system and operational issues.
- Develop and execute initiatives designed to optimize sales team efficiency and productivity.
- Drive rhythm of business (forecasting, pipeline council, monthly/quarterly business reviews) with strong operational rigor.
- Provide insights on key performance metrics and priorities, identify roadblocks, and work to remove them.
- Provide business analytic strength to drive initiatives critical to ongoing growth and support strategic decision-making.
- Drive critical projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with cross-functional teams by developing detailed project plans.
- Oversee implementation of enabling systems and tools, working closely with internal systems teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of sales strategy and operations experience in a high-tech growth environment, or operational experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or business insights/analytics roles.
- Knowledge of sales data such as customer accounts, opportunities, and revenue.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, Business, Engineering, Mathematics).
- Strong business acumen and distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills.
- Ability to solve complex and diverse business problems (commercial, operational, organizational).
- Exceptional analytical skills and a structured approach to solving unique business problems.
- Advanced SQL and Excel skills, including experience with financial modeling.
- Experience working with large data sets, analyzing imperfect data, and creating scalable reports and dashboards.
- Stakeholder management experience with strong communication and influencing skills.
- Self-starter comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- Communicate clearly, proactively, and concisely.
- Works well under pressure, with adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
- Enthusiastic "roll up your sleeves" mentality.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or higher degree in an analytical field.
- Prior experience at a growth-stage Internet/software company or FinTech.
- Proficiency in BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Experience in Salesforce.com as a user and report developer.
Schedule
Office-assigned Stripes in most locations are expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary by role, team, and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Bengaluru, and Dublin work 100% from the office. Some teams may have greater in-office attendance requirements to support users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss.
Pay and Benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $189,400 - $284,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, including both sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary. This range may be narrowed during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants outside the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
