Sales Representative: Processor | IN
Join Bunzl Distribution as a Sales Representative and drive sales growth within our Processor segment across Indiana. This role focuses on both account management and new business development, selling a diverse mix of disposable products including paper, packaging, janitorial supplies, safety, sanitation, and personal protection equipment. Your customer base will primarily include non-meat food producers and processors such as bakeries, dairies, and fresh produce enterprises. This is a "greenfield" territory covering the entire state of Indiana; candidates ideally located near Indianapolis are preferred, though all applicants within the territory will be considered.
About the Role
In this fast-paced environment, you will serve as a business development partner, building and maintaining customer relationships, handling inquiries and complaints, managing accounts receivable, and collaborating with internal teams. Attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive are essential to achieving personal, professional, and company goals.
Responsibilities
- Increase sales through prospecting and building business with new accounts.
- Meet or exceed sales and margin KPIs.
- Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships, ensure satisfaction, and cultivate new customer opportunities.
- Promote new products and drive sales of Bunzl internal and preferred brands.
- Implement and manage pricing strategies across all accounts.
- Plan and schedule weekly customer visits with clear objectives for each.
- Present monthly recaps of targeted sales priorities to leadership.
- Develop a strong understanding of Bunzl products, demonstrating features and benefits using samples or catalog specifications.
- Establish and grow new accounts.
- Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts to operational and leadership teams to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Evaluate pricing quarterly to maintain and protect margins.
- Participate in industry association functions, trade shows, and other events.
- Collaborate with outside vendors on new materials and innovative packaging solutions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of inside/outside sales experience.
- Practical sales experience in one or more of the following markets: food/meat processing, industrial processing, plant operating supplies, personal protection equipment, or related safety items. Experience in paper, packaging, janitorial/sanitation, or food service distribution is also preferred.
- Experience planning weekly and daily sales activities focused on targeted opportunities.
- Proficiency in Windows operating environment and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Copilot).
- Ability to work effectively in situations involving change and competing demands.
- Strong handling of confidential and time-sensitive material.
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
- High level of personal accountability and ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives.
