About the role

This Sales Representative III position is based in Houston or Dallas, Texas, and reports to the Regional Vice President of Sales – ERCOT. The primary objective is to prospect and acquire new Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers for ENGIE’s retail business in the Texas (ERCOT) region, building and maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Self-originate opportunities by identifying prospective C&I customers using marketing campaigns and Hoovers data, leveraging market knowledge, cold calling, and networking skills to create a pipeline within your prescribed territory.
  • Evaluate customer creditworthiness according to Credit Guidelines, applying financial literacy and relationship management to gather necessary data for credit risk analysis.
  • Gather consumption data and account information to qualify customer interest, tailoring price proposals to meet their specific needs and load patterns.
  • Master ENGIE product offerings and communicate how proposals align with customer requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs.
  • Use questioning, listening, and persuasive skills to assess customer needs, propose tailored electricity supply offers, negotiate terms, and close transactions, collaborating with key teams for seamless service delivery and revenue realization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; or seven (7) years of hands-on experience in business principles, management, and marketing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of business experience, including retail energy sales or developing and implementing effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Direct sales experience, ideally within the retail energy industry.
  • Persuasive communication, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to interact with executive-level decision-makers.
  • Self-driven with the ability to quickly learn new products, processes, and systems.
  • Capacity to manage multiple assignments concurrently on a timely basis.

Additional Details

  • Eligible for a hybrid work policy with a mix of remote and in-office presence.
  • Domestic travel up to 15% of the time, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record required for travel and car rentals.
  • Willingness and ability to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.

Pay

Salary Range: $88,000 – $136,045 USD annually. Actual offered salary may vary based on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an incentive plan.
