About the role
As our Sales Representative III with ENGIE North America, your primary objective is to prospect and acquire new Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers for ENGIE’s retail business in the Texas (ERCOT) region, ensuring a robust pipeline of opportunities.
This role is based in Houston, TX or Dallas, TX and reports to the Regional Vice President of Sales – ERCOT.
Responsibilities
- Self-originate opportunities by identifying prospective C&I customers using marketing campaigns and Hoovers data, leveraging market knowledge, cold calling, and networking skills to build a pipeline within your prescribed territory.
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness according to Credit Guidelines, using financial literacy and relationship management to gather necessary data for credit risk analysis.
- Gather consumption data and account information to qualify customer interest, tailoring price proposals to meet their specific needs and load patterns.
- Master ENGIE product offerings and communicate how proposals align with customer requirements, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs.
- Utilize questioning, listening, and persuasive skills to assess customer needs, propose tailored electricity supply offers, negotiate terms, and close transactions.
- Collaborate with key teams for seamless service delivery and revenue realization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; or seven (7) years of experience in roles involving business principles, management, and marketing.
- Minimum of five (5) years of business experience, including retail energy sales or developing and implementing effective sales strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Direct sales experience, ideally within the retail energy industry.
- Persuasive communication, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to interact with executive-level decision-makers.
- Self-driven with the ability to quickly learn new products, processes, and systems.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and deliver results on a timely basis.
Additional Details
- Eligible for a hybrid work policy with a mix of remote and in-office presence.
- Domestic travel up to 15% of the time, including occasional overnight trips.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record required for travel and car rentals.
- Willingness and ability to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies.
Pay
Salary Range: $88,000 – $136,045 USD annually. Actual offered salary may vary based on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an incentive plan.
