Sales Representative I, Medicare
Selected candidate will reside on Oahu or Maui.
About the role
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position assists in the development and implementation of competitive sales strategy and retention activities for Medicare markets with detailed guidance. The role provides a positive experience to customers with Medicare following detailed instructions, supports collaboration within teams to address customer needs, executes sales for Medicare markets with detailed guidance, and meets routine goals for sales and retention.
Responsibilities

- Ensures a high level of customer service by:
- Helping identify appropriate solutions based on lead/prospect/customer needs to fulfill performance and service quality goals.
- Exhibiting basic knowledge about various health plans and benefits to convey Kaiser Permanente’s unique value proposition.
- Helping resolve standard lead/prospect/customer questions or issues in a timely manner with detailed guidance.
- Serves as an advocate for process improvement by:
- Identifying solutions for overcoming obstacles to sales initiative progress.
- Acting as a sales subject matter expert by participating in work groups to meet department objectives.
- Applying routine methods/processes for continuous improvement of tools, technology, and processes.
- Utilizing basic knowledge of Federal and State laws, regulations, and contracts, and escalating compliance issues or risks.
- Tracking performance trends and articulating updates consistent with strategy.
- Contributing to group installation and/or member enrollment processing to meet critical milestones.
- Generates prospective sales by:
- Helping organize open enrollment events and preparing materials for formal presentations.
- Utilizing routine protocols to build relationships with key influencers, brokers, consultants, decision-makers, and community groups.
- Exhibiting basic knowledge of prospecting, sourcing, and developing referral networks to build a book of business.
- Collecting and/or submitting materials/forms for incoming business opportunities.
- Using routine protocols to work with key stakeholders to win new leads/prospects/customers by conveying the value of enrollment.
- Completing tasks to maintain and use resources such as sales databases, reports, media, and industry intelligence.
- Contributes to strategic development by:
- Developing strategies to meet annual sales targets, goals, and initiatives with detailed instructions.
- Helping gather data for sales status reports, including sales activity, follow-up, closings, and target achievement.
- Utilizing research and basic knowledge of the healthcare marketplace to articulate internal sales strategies.
- Gathering, analyzing, and applying data on competitor, customer, and industry trends related to sales strategy.
- Assisting team members in using sales performance data to maximize performance and develop insights.
- Collaborating with team members on optimal offering conditions and market segmentation to drive sales strategy.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent, or minimum one (1) year of experience working in a corporate or business office environment (including relevant internship experience).
- Accident and Health or Sickness Insurance License (Hawaii) within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience in project management.
- One (1) year of experience in health care or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking).
Schedule
- Full-time, standard shift: Monday–Friday, 08:00 AM–05:00 PM.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
- Work setting: Remote (worker location must align with Kaiser Permanente’s Authorized States policy).
- Travel: Yes, 100% of the time.
Pay
Pay range: $64,100 – $82,940 per year. Actual base pay determined at offer will be based on labor market data, internal alignment, and a candidate’s years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
