About the role

Actively solicit new accounts for the Kalamazoo Wings and sustain ongoing business relationships with existing accounts. This role offers the opportunity to be on the ground floor of the new Kalamazoo Event Center, opening Fall 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Work hand in hand with the Kalamazoo Wings on development and strategies for ticket sales growth with season ticket holders, various other ticket plan buyers, and group sales.
  • Drive revenue sales and guest service with a strong passion.
  • Lead marketing and sales promotion efforts for the Kalamazoo Wings.
  • Drive group sales and ticket package initiatives for the hockey club.
  • Resolve customer issues to sustain long-term guest engagement by making improvement recommendations to management.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks while collaborating with all levels of leadership and associates.
  • Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules to call on existing or potential guests.
  • Continuously improve the content, approach, and timing of outside sales calls by studying the potential market, consulting with the Director of Sales, and adjusting strategies to improve the closing ratio.
  • Sustain an organized approach and keep the Director of Sales informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual segment analysis.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, competitor deliverables, and promotions.
  • Recommend improvements in products, services, packages, and promotions by evaluating results, seeking guest feedback, and observing competitive developments.
  • Continuously improve professional and technical knowledge and skills by attending educational workshops, participating in sales team meetings, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and seeking additional methodologies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience with negotiating and creating contracts and proposals is preferred.
  • Strong passion for driving revenue sales and guest service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of leadership and associates.
  • Driven by purpose, mission, values, and a sense of urgency.
  • Able to work closely with staff through strong communication and verbal skills.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours or more.
  • Able to stoop and bend.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time.
  • Able to safely work with potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment.
  • Able to comply with safety and health code standards.
  • Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks.
