About the role
Our nationwide team of Architectural Sales Representatives work closely with architectural professionals advising on the design and specification of door openings. This is accomplished through Openings Studio, our award-winning BIM software used to specify 3D doors, hardware, and access control. In this role, you will be a vital team player to the architect and design team, driving positive, sustaining relationships with key influencers and creating brand demand through educating, facilitating, and promoting ASSA ABLOY solutions.
You will work alongside a committed team of professionals focused on providing specification support and services to many of the top architectural firms in the country. You will serve as the point-of-contact for the architect's education, specification, client satisfaction, and technical support needs. Responsibilities include architectural development, project tracking, and gaining approval for our internal team to prepare Division 08 door and hardware specification documents. You will also promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate strategic relationships with architectural design team influencers and specifiers.
- Identify and secure opportunities to prepare door and hardware specifications.
- Provide timely and accurate product information for use in commercial project specifications.
- Deliver targeted continuing educational programs highlighting new products, solutions, and design-assist professional services.
- Assist with product substitution and approval procedures and follow up to ensure specifications are held in the bid process.
- Utilize Salesforce.com as a customer relationship, project tracking, and time management tool.
- Promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.

Qualifications
- College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as architectural, design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar), or work experience commensurate with a minimum high school/GED diploma.
- At least 2-3 years’ industry-related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management (considered in lieu of degree).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
- Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus.
