Florcraft Carpet One has expanded its services to include more than just flooring! We are now a Whole Home Improvement Center Including Flooring, Kitchen & Bath, Window Covering, Lighting and Design Support! We are looking for an experienced Sales Professional with Flooring as well as Kitchen & Bath Design experience who works directly with customers applying their creativity, design skills and industry knowledge to make distinct product selections and create beautiful homes and interior spaces. This position is for a self- starter, well organized, creative person who is eager to contribute to the growth of a unique business and provide outstanding customer service. Hours, salary and bonus potential are determined by skill level, and years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Works with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed.
• Collaborates with architects, engineers, painters, and builders to further understand how interior space should function, appear, and be furnished.
• Analyzes movement and use patterns of the space.
• Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to client.
• Consults with client to select materials, furnishings, and décor.
• Uses design applications to prepare and illustrate final plans.
• Determines timelines and project costs and presents accurate estimates to clients.
• Orders or obtains necessary materials, adhering to project and budget specifications.
• Oversees the installation of materials, furniture, and other design elements.
• Ensures client satisfaction by visiting the project on completion with the client; resolves any complaints or concerns.
• Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors.
• Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics.
• Basic understanding of building codes and inspection regulations related to interiors.
• 2020 Design Experience a Bonus!
• Submission of a design portfolio demonstrating your design skills. Including 2020 renderings.
• A Degree in Interior Design is preferred, but not required. Industry certification is a plus.
• Excellent time management, record keeping and project management skills.
• Experience working with customer relationship management systems.
• Experience specifying and ordering all products and being responsible for accurately checking all order acknowledgments and communicating shipping schedules.
• This position also requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and experience using electronic mail. Excellent spelling, grammar, written, verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate professionally with staff, customers and vendors.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
• Must be able to distinguish between colors.
• Must have valid Drivers license and transportation.

Nice to Have

• Interior Design Certification or related field
• Experience with Industry Design software
• Lighting Experience
• At least one year of K&B related design experience.
