Position Summary

The Sales Planning and Marketing Assistant provides coordination, tracking, analysis, creative graphic design and administrative support for members of Gorton’s Sales and Marketing departments. This individual will also assist numerous initiatives within the sales planning team.

What You’ll Do

  • Actively support sales initiatives with numerous data tracking/syncing and project support activities including sales agent profiles and contract files, and competitive and customer information.
  • Support of roll out of new item(s) meeting including scheduling, samples distribution, presentation preparation, display contest information, new item authorizations, and distribution/price surveys.
  • Utilize strong organizational skills, computer software expertise, and personal productivity skills to contribute to the ongoing improvement of departmental efficiency, accuracy, professionalism, and responsiveness to field sales, sales agents, and customer needs.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Gorton’s internal tools and the willingness to broaden proficiency of such tools as technology evolves (Promax, BI, Circana data, Salsify and GS1).
  • Utilize Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create branded coupons and ad slicks for our brand marketing team and key customers.
  • Ensures sales policies and procedures, base brokerage, and commission rules are reviewed and updated as needed.
  • Contribute to the Club Team by providing analysis and reporting for internal and customer presentations as well as supporting customer demo programs.
  • Provide backup and support for others within the department and across Gorton’s in pursuit of Sales and Marketing initiatives and contribute to additional areas as identified.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a Business Administration related major)
  • Interest in a career path into a Sales Analyst or Field Sales role
  • Advanced MS Office Computer Skills including expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and in-design skills are strongly encouraged.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact extensively with all levels of internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-starter
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while gaining exposure at all management levels
  • Ability to travel on a limited basis.

Pay Range

$54,870.40 - 64,480/Annual
