About the role

The Sales Operations Specialist (SOS) supports sales and marketing efforts by requesting quotes from vendors and distributors, generating customer quotes, managing Salesforce.com opportunities, and corresponding with customers to maintain and grow the region. This role interacts with manufacturing partners, internal business partners, and customers in a fast-paced support environment, serving as a key contact for daily customer interactions. The SOS supports new and renewal business in a quota-bearing environment, manages Salesforce.com for accurate forecasting, and assists the Marketing team with regional event planning.

Responsibilities

  • Use Salesforce.com to generate quotes, track opportunities, and process orders.
  • Promptly respond to internal and external inquiries.
  • Suggest creative pricing and payment solutions balancing customer needs and pricing policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, and GuidePoint outside Sales Executives.
  • Develop and retain product and industry knowledge, vendor resources, and GuidePoint Security service offerings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with GuidePoint key vendors and customers.
  • Attend regional forecast calls and perform pipeline analysis to ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Leverage resources and relationships to bring value to customers.
  • Serve as a liaison between GuidePoint outside Account Executives, Accounting, and Contracts Departments to process and track orders.
  • Work with the team to analyze information and make decisions that benefit GuidePoint Security.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Work closely with other GuidePoint teams to streamline processes and ensure customer deliverables.
  • Assist the Marketing team with planning and coordinating regional marketing events, including vendor sponsorships, event invites, and venue arrangements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • 3+ years in a customer service or sales support role.
  • Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software required.
  • Intermediate-level experience with Microsoft Office and internet navigation.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and a strong team player with excellent follow-through.
  • Positive, results-driven, open to constructive feedback, and adaptable to ambiguity.
  • Solid math skills with the ability to calculate margins, discounts, and percentages.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in analyzing information to make decisions that benefit GuidePoint Security.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and use AI-enabled tools.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in the IT industry.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com.
  • Technical sales/support and outbound calling experience.

Travel Requirements

Up to 15% regional travel required.

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work.
  • Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
  • Required to have close visual acuity to view a computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
