About the Role
We're looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager to own both sides of our commercial engine: leading a small team of sales representatives and driving the marketing initiatives that fill their pipeline. This is a hands-on, player-coach role where you'll set the strategy, then roll up your sleeves to execute it — coaching reps in the field one week, launching a campaign or working a tradeshow booth the next. It's a strong fit for someone with roughly five years of combined sales and marketing experience who understands how personalized medicine gets sold to clinicians and pharmacies and wants a role with real ownership and visible impact on company growth.
Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership
- Manage, coach, and develop a small team of sales representatives, holding regular one-on-ones, pipeline reviews, and ride-alongs.
- Set individual and team quotas, forecast accurately, and report performance against targets to leadership.
- Build and refine the sales process — territory planning, prospecting cadence, discovery, objection handling, and close.
- Carry a personal book of strategic accounts and participate directly in high-value deals.
- Own CRM hygiene and reporting so pipeline data is trustworthy and actionable.
- Marketing
- Own and execute the company's marketing plan across digital, content, email, events, and print collateral.
- Develop positioning and messaging that translates pharmacogenomic science into clear clinical and business value for prescribers, pharmacies, and clinics.
- Build sales enablement materials: decks, one-pagers, case studies, competitive comparisons, and objection-handling guides.
- Manage demand generation programs and track performance from lead through closed revenue.
- Coordinate outside vendors, agencies, and freelancers as needed.
- Ensure all promotional material meets regulatory, legal, and compliance review requirements.
- Events & Tradeshows
- Select, plan, and staff several industry conferences and tradeshows per year.
- Manage booth logistics, pre-show outreach, on-site lead capture, and post-show follow-up.
- Measure event ROI and refine the event calendar accordingly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with operations, laboratory, and customer support teams to align commercial promises with delivery.
- Bring market and competitive intelligence back to leadership to inform pricing, product, and go-to-market decisions.
Requirements
- Approximately 5 years of combined sales and marketing experience, with a track record of hitting or exceeding targets.
- Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring sales representatives (formal management experience preferred; strong team-lead experience considered).
- Demonstrated ability to build and execute marketing programs, not just manage them.
- Comfort selling into healthcare providers, pharmacies, or clinics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to clinical audiences.
- Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation tools (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot).
- Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%, including multi-day tradeshows.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the personalized medicine, pharmacogenomics, or diagnostics sector.
- Experience with a nutraceutical or dietary supplement company.
- Experience with a pharmacy, compounding pharmacy, or pharmaceutical company.
- Understanding of the regulatory and reimbursement landscape for laboratory or diagnostic services.
- Existing relationships within the pharmacy or integrative/functional medicine community.
