Sales Manager - Police/Fire - Southern California
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Captures activities to secure assigned new business and sales targets.
- Communicates with business unit personnel about the business environment, product positioning, pricing, market trends, and how to address procedural, sales, distribution, delivery, and service issues.
- Responds promptly to competitive and market opportunities, as well as communications from distributors, dealers, OEMs, end users, and the factory.
- Shares pertinent matters with manufacturer representatives and group staff.
- Develops and implements an annual sales plan.
- Participates in local, state, regional, and national trade shows with non-sales staff as needed.
- Maintains quarterly market coverage documentation.
- Processes annual distributor agreements, documents, and approves additions/deletions to the distributor network.
- Contributes to the corporate bottom line through effective expense control.
- Facilitates information flow between the factory, sales reps, and accounts in a timely manner.
- Works with the inside sales team to ensure all quotations are within the assigned territory and maintain an acceptable margin.
- Forecasts sales accurately; tracks monthly sales by product to align production schedules and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Maintains administrative responsibilities to meet deadlines set by group management (e.g., expense reports, new business reports, quarterly narratives, monthly schedules, and forecasts).
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study preferred (e.g., Business, Marketing, etc.)
- Five (5) years' experience in Automotive, Fleet, and/or Law Enforcement sales required.
- In lieu of sales experience, ten (10) years experience working in the Automotive, Fleet, and/or Law Enforcement industry.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Working knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software, along with strong customer issue troubleshooting capabilities using multiple channels.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively communicating information, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
Wage
Base salary of $75,000 - $85,000, with the opportunity to earn a significant amount above base pay through participation in a company-run Sales Incentive Plan.
