About the role
This Sales Manager will serve as a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding key customer relationships, and managing a national network of independent sales representatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and manage a network of 12 independent sales representatives across the United States.
- Drive revenue growth through strategic account management, customer retention, and business development initiatives.
- Persistently partner with sales reps to identify and pursue new business opportunities within OEM and industrial manufacturing markets.
- Strengthen relationships with key customers and serve as an escalation point for strategic opportunities and customer concerns.
- Conduct customer visits and participate in meetings alongside sales representatives as needed.
- Develop sales forecasts, track pipeline activity, and provide regular performance reporting to leadership.
- Support pricing, quoting, contract negotiations, and profitability improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate market trends, competitive activity, and growth opportunities to help shape sales strategy.
- Contribute to long-term succession planning and play an active role in the future development of the sales organization.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales leader with experience in industrial manufacturing environments who excels at growing accounts, developing sales strategies, and leading others.
- This person will be comfortable operating in a smaller, entrepreneurial organization, partnering closely with ownership and leadership, and serving as a coach and resource for a national network of independent sales representatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing sales, 5-7+ in leadership.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, expanding customer relationships, and developing new business opportunities.
- Experience selling to OEMs, distributors, and/or industrial customers.
- Prior experience managing sales teams, independent manufacturers' representatives, distributors, or channel partners.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Experience with forecasting, pipeline management, sales reporting, and strategic account planning.
- Comfortable discussing technical products and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office.
