Sales Manager - Electrical Construction

Responsibilities

  • Attain or exceed sales and gross margin rate budgets for the sales territory.
  • Implement the district's market plan(s) to assist in achieving sales and marketing objectives for the assigned customer vertical markets: Construction, Communication, Industrial, Utility, and CIG.
  • Manage a minimum annual budget of $10M and may serve as a sales trainer.
  • Develop business plans supporting the assigned specialty market within the assigned territory.
  • Work with sales employees to develop tactical plans that implement the district plan.
  • Develop assigned sales territory business plans with suppliers identified as strategic.
  • Utilize sales rep business plans, pre-call plans, and post-call coaching debriefs to implement the sales management process.
  • Evaluate industry and business trends for potential impact on the district.
  • Identify key business opportunities and potential threats within the assigned sales territory.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure the assigned sales territory has implemented effective recruiting, staffing, employee development, performance management, and succession planning programs.
  • Provide guidance and support in the retention of profitable business.
  • Afford guidance and support in the retention of profitable business.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate tools and training programs within the assigned sales territory to support the applicable specialty business growth.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of progressively responsible business or wholesale distribution industry experience, with 13 years preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED, with a four-year degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of the wholesale distribution industry.
  • Knowledge of the Company's business, customers, suppliers, and external market conditions.
  • Knowledge of the applicable specialty business (vertical market).
  • Knowledge of the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and practices.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Planning and organizational skills.

Pay

The expected rate of pay for this role is $102,986.00 annually, depending on experience. This position is also incentive-eligible, based on meeting specific and relative business metrics.

Schedule

Office environment. Some travel required. This role requires the use of your personal vehicle for business purposes.
