About the Role
The Sales Manager (SM) supports the General Manager in developing and training sales representatives. This full-time salaried position focuses on daily training, ride-alongs, role-playing, meetings, and sales development while taking ownership of sales activities within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute branch sales meetings.
- Observe new and underperforming sales representatives on sales appointments, complete assessments, and develop improvement plans with follow-ups.
- Accompany new sales representatives on appointments for observation and hands-on training.
- Support new sales representatives during training and their first 30 days through role-playing, coaching, and mentoring.
- Develop new sales representatives to exceed company standards.
- Be available to the sales team for questions and advice.
- Ensure each sales representative has a monthly updated development plan.
- Take TO calls as needed by the General Manager.
- Assign leads as directed by the General Manager.
- Build a culture of improvement, ownership, ethics, and excellence through monthly 1:1s and individual training.
- Familiarize yourself with the General Manager’s role to cover for them if needed and prepare for potential promotion.
- Conduct field rides with new sales representatives as directed by the General Manager.
- Observe underperforming sales representatives at least 4 times per week, complete assessments, and develop improvement plans.
- Plan and conduct 3 in-office sales training sessions and additional branch-level meetings for underperforming representatives.
- Lead in-office training sessions (2 per week, 2 hours each) on targeted topics for specific audiences.
- Review weekly development plans for each sales representative to ensure progress.
Benchmarks
- Scale growth in sales offices where the General Manager is proficient but lacks capacity for continued expansion.
- Improve office performance and increase retention of new sales representatives meeting company standards.
- Manage discretionary discounting in collaboration with the General Manager and Regional Director to protect net profit.
- Reduce and manage leakage in accordance with company standards.
- Minimize job rollovers caused by incomplete or incorrect sales paperwork.
- Monitor and ensure daily management of MPWL (Missed Production Work Log).
Requirements
- 1 year of exceptional sales performance with LeafGuard.
- Exceptional knowledge of the LeafGuard sales system.
- Willingness to collaborate with the General Manager to develop a strong sales team.
- Ability to plan and deliver productive sales meetings.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities alongside personal sales production.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
