About the role
The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing daily sales operations, motivating and managing the sales team, and ensuring consistent achievement of sales and gross profit goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve individual and departmental goals
- Monitor and improve sales performance, gross profit, and CSI scores
- Desk deals, structure transactions, and ensure profitability while maintaining compliance
- Train and develop sales consultants on product knowledge, sales process, and CRM usage
- Ensure proper follow-up processes are in place for leads, showroom traffic, and sold customers
- Review and maintain accurate deal documentation and reporting
- Collaborate with F&I and service departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Maintain knowledge of inventory, market trends, and competitor activity
- Enforce dealership policies, ethical standards, and compliance requirements
Requirements
- Previous automotive sales management experience required (CDJR experience preferred)
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Proven track record of achieving sales and gross profit targets
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and accountability
- Ability to read and analyze reports, including sales, gross, and inventory data
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems and dealership management software
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
