About the role
Our internships and student positions offer hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of our products and industry practices. Responsibilities
- Learn sales strategies including inside sales, business-to-business (B2B), service sales, and advertising sales.
- Job shadow our professional sales team.
- Demonstrate products, visit customers, and attend trade shows.
- Give customer presentations.
- Conduct research.
- Generate and track leads.
- Learn sales operation processes.
- Contribute to Daktronics Intern Group through monthly luncheons, Toastmasters, recruiting events, and internship capstone presentations.
- Experience manufacturing through production rotation.
- Build and maintain professional relationships.

Schedule
This internship runs from 11 January 2027 to 13 August 2027, with the possibility of adjusting the schedule to fit your academic calendar. The schedule may include evenings and weekends, and overtime will be required as needed to support special events and travel. You must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week.
Location
This position is located in Houston, Texas, working primarily from a Daktronics-based office. You may also work from multiple locations, including home-based offices.
Pay
The typical hiring range for this position is $17.75 to $22.90 per hour based on the location of Houston, Texas. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Requirements
- Preferred applicants will be full-time students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program related to sales, business, communication, economics, sports management, entrepreneurial studies, marketing, or engineering.
- Will consider December 2026 graduates and students who have completed sophomore year in good academic standing.
- Able to take a semester off from school to complete the internship (no class obligations either online or in person during the duration of the internship).
- Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English, written and verbal. Knowledge of Spanish or French is helpful.
- This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S. Daktronics does not sponsor, renew, or extend immigration visas for this position.
Travel Requirements
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time (34 days), with 5-18 trips ranging from 2-13 days (average 3.5 days per trip), including weekends.
- Must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy.
- Motor vehicle record (MVR) check will be conducted in accordance with applicable laws.
- Must comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements for operating Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV):
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Obtain state & company certification to operate a CMV with a gross vehicle weight rating from 10,001 to 26,001 pounds.
- Pass a medical exam, which includes a drug test.
- Physically able to connect trailer to vehicle.
- Be able to operate large trucks with or without trailers safely in various weather and traffic conditions.
