Sales Floor Lead

About the Role

The Floor Lead works with the Supervisor and Assistant Store Manager to oversee the sales floor, drive sales, deliver excellent customer service, maintain visual presentation standards, and manage the front-end area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the sales floor, sales goals, front-end operations, and visual standards per company guidelines.
• Ensure production goals are met or exceeded consistently.
• Maximize sales performance through proper merchandise rotation, visual merchandising, signage, and optimal inventory levels.
• Ensure the store consistently meets or exceeds sales goals.
• Deliver quality customer service promptly and courteously to all shoppers, donors, and employees.
• Maintain floor appearance, cleanliness, and shopping environment, including floor care, fitting rooms, cash registers, customer service areas, aisles, trash cans, lights, restrooms, glass showcases, window ledges, and doors.
• Ensure doors, odor control systems, cash registers, and restrooms are functioning correctly.
• Assist in maintaining the appearance of the building exterior and parking lot, including windows, doors, sidewalks, parking lot lights, dumpster area, landscape, shopping cart retrieval, store entry, and signage.
• Ensure the monthly store audit achieves a passing score of at least 90%.
• Understand the relationship between donations, production, and sales.
• Work in all store areas to qualify for promotion to Supervisor.
• Ensure associates place Z-racks on the sales floor every 30-45 minutes and that the floor is appropriately colorized and sized.
• Ensure textiles are correctly classified on the sales floor.
• Maintain clean and attended fitting rooms after every customer.
• Follow the rotation schedule to ensure no inactive colors remain on the sales floor.
• Ensure all visual displays are correctly executed and replace items sold from mannequins.
• Ensure associates wear name tags and that H-racks and 4-ways are stocked to maximum capacity.
• Identify and remove damaged merchandise (wares, shoes, textiles, etc.) from the sales floor.
• Monitor surroundings for loss prevention issues.
• Ensure cash registers are adequately staffed for fast, efficient customer flow.
• Ensure registers have correct change and necessary supplies.
• Fill voids according to policies and procedures.
• Count and verify cashiers’ tills at the end of shifts and report discrepancies.
• Ensure cashiers meet daily sales quotas.
• Conduct register readings at 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m.
• Ensure accurate and correct completion of all credit card transactions.
• Adhere to the electrical return policy.
• Train new cashiers and assist with add-on sales.
• Act as a mentor to foster a pleasant work environment.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free premises.
• Ensure all staff understand and follow safety procedures.
• Report, investigate, and correct all loss prevention matters promptly.
• Ensure proper operation of store security, including door locks, alarms, office doors, bank deposits, refunds, safes, and incident reports.
• Enforce cash handling procedures and submit required reports.
• Provide an efficient and effective workforce while maintaining morale.
• Communicate store reports, personnel status changes, and rehabilitation information accurately and promptly.
• Ensure store staff adhere to policies and procedures.
• Effectively utilize Human Resources to maintain discipline.
