This established, growth-oriented organization is hiring a Sales Director to take ownership of its sales organization and help drive the next stage of profitable growth.
About the Role
Reporting to senior executive leadership, this hands-on leadership role combines strategic planning with day-to-day involvement in coaching, customer meetings, and opportunity reviews. Responsibilities include sales performance, team development, pipeline management, forecasting, strategic account growth, new business development, and channel and partner relationships.
Responsibilities
- Build a high-performance sales culture centered on accountability, preparation, activity, and results.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals while establishing clear performance expectations across territories and assigned markets.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching, pipeline, forecasting, and opportunity reviews.
- Work alongside sales team members in the field and participate in key customer meetings.
- Strengthen the team's effectiveness in prospecting, discovery, presentations, negotiation, objection handling, and closing.
- Identify performance gaps and support recruitment, onboarding, and training of future sales talent.
- Establish and manage sales metrics covering customer and prospect meetings, new account development, qualified opportunities, win rates, pipeline quality and velocity, forecast accuracy, and CRM data integrity.
- Set revenue objectives and growth plans, identify priority accounts and new business opportunities, and build relationships with external sales channels and strategic business partners.
- Develop strategic accounts, expand relationships beyond a single point of contact, and participate directly in customer presentations, negotiations, and business reviews.
- Own pipeline and forecast discipline, ensuring accurate CRM usage and providing executive leadership with clear reporting on sales performance, forecasts, wins and losses, and emerging risks.
- Partner across the organization to align sales strategy with broader business objectives and support customer-facing initiatives.
Requirements
- Approximately 5 to 10 or more years of progressive sales experience.
- Previous sales management experience with responsibility for developing and leading sales professionals.
- Demonstrated history of revenue growth and new account development.
- Experience managing a combination of direct sales and channel or partner relationships.
- Experience establishing sales KPIs and holding teams accountable for activity and results.
- Proven pipeline management and forecasting capabilities.
- Experience navigating complex or longer-cycle B2B sales.
- Strong CRM experience with an appreciation for accurate sales data.
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 40 to 50% as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading sales teams within a similar industry or market.
- Experience developing territory coverage and succession strategies as an organization grows.
- Background balancing long-term strategy with hands-on day-to-day execution.
Pay
$130,000 to $150,000 per year, based on experience.
Schedule
Full time, with approximately 40 to 50% travel to support the team and customers.
