About the role

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays a crucial role in Commerce’s growth by engaging with prospects, learning about their challenges, and offering solutions. This role focuses on Mid-Market and Enterprise Corporations.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospects to understand their challenges and offer solutions.
  • Generate a solid pipeline of qualified leads with a strong likelihood of becoming Commerce customers.
  • Perform outbound sales activities such as cold calling, messaging, and email campaigns.
  • Employ sales methodologies to push beyond gatekeepers and provide valuable information to key decision-makers.
  • Adjust messaging and tone to fit a variety of audiences and settings.
  • Assess complex business structures and challenges.
  • Establish trust and rapport to acquire information critical to the sale.
  • Tailor a course of action and/or solution to best fit the needs of each unique prospect.
  • Maintain a CRM with detailed and accurate notes of all sales-related activities.
  • Develop and track forecasts and pipelines, understanding the steps required to hit goals and hold oneself accountable.
  • Collaborate with your team to position BigCommerce for meaningful sales wins.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years experience in a sales role with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • ERP experience (specifically Acumatica or Netsuite).
  • Foundational knowledge of sales methodologies and proficiency with solution selling.
  • Keen understanding of SaaS or eCommerce.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Zoominfo, Salesforce, Outreach or similar.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business or related field (plus).
  • Previous leadership and/or extracurricular activities (plus).

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with CRM software.
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies and techniques.

Benefits

Commerce offers competitive compensation and benefits, including a range of $51,000 - $80,000 OTE, equity, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Pay

$51,000 - $80,000 OTE, with final compensation determined based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.

Schedule

The role is available on a hybrid schedule, combining remote and in-office work.
