Job Summary
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will generate qualified business leads, build initial client relationships, manage leads through the front end of the sales cycle, and support the team in setting up demos. This role works at the intersection of sales, technology, and innovation, ideal for developing skills for a future role in presales or sales.
Responsibilities
- Lead Generation & Outbound Prospecting
- Research and identify potential leads using Salesforce, LinkedIn, and other demand generation solutions.
- Contact and qualify potential customers (40-50 phone calls/day, 30 emails/day).
- Set up appointments and follow up on leads.
- Track progress towards meeting sales goals.
- Maintain and update lead database in Salesforce.
- Collaborate with marketing team on lead generation campaigns.
- Attend trade shows and industry events as required.
- Sales Support
- Aid sales team in setting up and coordinating product demos and presentations.
- Prepare and customize sales materials and presentations.
- Provide administrative support (scheduling, reports, documentation).
- Track and follow up on sales leads.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM system.
- Provide regular reports on lead generation and qualification metrics.
- Presales Support
- Aid presales team in setting up and coordinating product demonstrations.
- Assist in RFX proposal preparation, market research, and data analyses.
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders in multiple time zones.
- Cook up meetings and demos for stakeholders.
- Gather feedback to refine prospecting and qualification strategies.
- Business Operations Support
- Support day-to-day operational tasks (scheduling, tracking KPIs, updating reports).
- Assist with marketing activities (collateral, social media, white papers, presentations).
- Partner with Finance for travel budgets, team spend tracking, and ad hoc reporting.
- Identify process improvements to streamline workflows.
- Stay on top of industry trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in sales support, lead generation, or similar role.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Desire to learn and grow in sales field.
- Able to business travel up to 20%.
- Flexible schedule for occasional evening meetings, calls, and demonstrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise software SaaS industry (ERP, SRM, SCM solutions preferred).
- Experience in Design to Pay solutions.
- Experience with LinkedIn and Salesforce lead gen tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and/or procurement industry.
- Experience working with international and cross-functional teams.
