The Sales Associate serves as a key point of contact for customers, providing excellent service and assisting with merchandise selection. They operate cash registers, handle transactions, and ensure accurate cash handling. Additionally, they stock, restock, and organize merchandise according to planograms, maintain store cleanliness, and support visual merchandising efforts. The role involves performing various store duties to maximize profitability and enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting customers effectively
- Operating cash registers and processing payments
- Stocking and rotating merchandise on shelves
- Cleaning the store, including floors and restrooms
- Setting up displays and maintaining store presentation
Qualifications & Skills
- Effective communication skills
- Understanding of safety policies
- Basic math and cash handling procedures
- Ability to follow merchandising plans
- Capability to perform stocking duties and operate necessary equipment
Preferred Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Working Conditions
The role involves frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting (up to 55 pounds), with exposure to various environmental conditions and a fast‑paced store environment.
