Sales Associate

About the role
We are currently looking for a Part-Time Sales Associate to join our growing team. This role is responsible for promoting and processing all products and services offered by Ria to ensure excellent customer experience. It includes administrative and office support functions, serving customers, internal departments, other branches, and stores. The Sales Associate will communicate key information to senior staff and assist with various assigned tasks, contributing to meeting or exceeding monthly performance targets.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers face-to-face to receive and process all of Ria’s products such as money transfers, money orders, selling and buying foreign currency.
- Accurately verify or enter customer information on our systems.
- Courteously assist customers with inquiries about services, service cancellations, or other Ria locations.
- Recognize problems, issues, or complaints during queries and propose solutions or escalate to the management team.
- Keep up to date with Ria’s products, services, and policies.
- Balance the cash register and prepare cash for bank deposit.
- Prepare daily transaction records.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by colleagues and superiors.
Requirements
- Passion for customer service and experience engaging customers in Spanish and English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Some computer experience using MS Word, Excel, phone, and other office equipment.
- Able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., weekends, holidays, extended working hours) and maintain regular attendance.
- Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Face-to-face customer service experience (preferable but not required).
- Experience handling cash and balancing a register (highly preferable but not required).
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Sedentary work in an office environment.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Manual skills required to operate computers and phones.
- Frequent face-to-face interaction with customers.
- May need to sit, stand, or bend as needed.
- May perform work for extended periods as a solo team member.

Pay
The non-exempt hourly rate for this position is $16.50 USD.
