About the Role

The Sales Associate works in the Pet Care Center, helping pet parents find the right products and solutions while maintaining a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, learning about pet care, and thriving in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Pet First: Support health, safety, and proper care of all animals; share accurate product and pet‑care information; keep the environment clean and welcoming.
• Foster the Fun: Greet customers with friendly, solution‑focused service; create positive shopping experiences that build trust and loyalty; collaborate with teammates; maintain an organized, visually appealing sales floor.
• Let’s Go: Assist customers in selecting products and services; process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately; stock shelves and support inventory integrity; help with store recovery, merchandising, and promotional set‑ups; follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards; perform additional tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Experience & Sales: Deliver consistent, courteous, and knowledgeable service; educate customers on products, services, and promotions; support store sales and service goals.
• Operations & Merchandising: Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards; assist with inventory replenishment and stock accuracy; support daily operational routines and task execution.

• Customers feel welcomed and supported during every visit.
• The sales floor is clean, stocked, and easy to shop.
• Team members collaborate effectively to meet store goals.
• Pets are cared for safely and responsibly.

Requirements

• Previous retail or customer‑service experience preferred but not required.
• Passion for animals and interest in pet care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and transactions.
• Attention to detail and reliability.

Essential Functions & Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 lb).
• Cashiering and point‑of‑sale transactions on the sales floor.
• Exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, and cleaning chemicals.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Salary Range: $12.00 – $19.50 per hour (actual rate depends on location, experience, and applicable minimum‑wage laws). Start Rate: $14.00 per hour.

Schedule

Flexible availability required to support Pet Care Center operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
