Sales Associate

About the role

The Sales Associate supports the smooth operation of the retail store by stocking inventory, maintaining store cleanliness, providing excellent customer service, and handling financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily activities to ensure efficient store operations.
• Stock shelves and monitor inventory levels.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and address any customer concerns.
• Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Practice and exhibit proper customer service and suggestive selling techniques.
• Comply with company uniform policy.
• Understand and follow clocking in and out procedures on the store's computer system.
• Lift, stand, and remain active for the duration of the shift, with frequent movement around the store.
• Knowledge of procedures and operation of the following:
  • Cash register
  • SNAP purchases
  • Cash control policy
  • Safe drop procedures
  • Selling and cashing lottery and lotto tickets
  • Beer and wine sales (must have completed a certified alcohol sellers' training program)
  • Tobacco sales
  • Money order sales

Requirements

• One (1) or more years’ experience working in a retail environment (preferred).
• Active listening and ability to demonstrate ongoing value.
• Ability to take initiative, multitask, and prioritize.
• Operational excellence and strong time management skills.
• Must be reachable via a form of communication.
• Must be able to lift, stand, and remain active for the duration of the shift.
