Sales Associate

About the role

A growing company in the food distribution industry is seeking a Sales Associate to manage and expand customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role combines field-based client engagement with strategic account development, offering opportunities to directly influence sales growth. Location: Carol Stream, IL.

Responsibilities

• Visit existing and potential customers to provide product information, support, and maintain strong business relationships
• Develop and expand customer networks to maximize sales opportunities
• Execute sales plans, pricing adjustments, and promotional activities as directed by management
• Communicate customer needs and market feedback to internal teams to support product and business planning
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, and accounting teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and receivables management
• Submit sales activity reports and participate in quarterly inventory counts
• Perform additional sales duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1–2 years of sales experience (food industry experience preferred)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams
• Basic computer skills; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites
• Positive, outgoing, and professional demeaner

Pay

USD $55,000 – $75,000 (DOE)
