About the role
To sell glassybaby and accessories, promote the brand, share the glassybaby giving message, provide excellent customer service in person, over the phone and email, and demonstrate sustained competence and accuracy in POS use, financial transaction accountability, and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Sell glassybaby and accessories in retail store to achieve store sales goals and promote the glassybaby brand.
- Maintain storefront to glassybaby standards through cleaning, inventory and packaging replenishment, and other tasks as needed.
- Package glassybaby, rockers, and drinkers.
- Provide excellent customer service by phone and in person through clear communication, transaction efficiency and accuracy, and an amiable demeanor.
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) software with attention to all aspects of reconciliation and accuracy in opening and closing protocol.
- Troubleshoot transactional problems, physical issues with the POS and relevant equipment, and document unresolved issues in writing.
- Process transfer requests and restock product.
- Collect customer name and email for every transaction (no placeholder names).
- Ensure glassybaby lights are on at all times in stores.
- Promote in-store and external events, rentals, and other glassybaby services and promotions to increase sales.
- Foster customer partnerships through storytelling, email sign-ups, promotions, community outreach, and goodwill to spread brand awareness.
- Read and respond to emails as necessary.
- Share the glassybaby giving message, including how much the company has donated to charities and details about monthly/quarterly partners and baby grants.
- For glassybaby events:
- Acknowledge each guest.
- Promote and sell products.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Share the giving message.
- Act as an amiable, informed, and helpful representative of glassybaby.
- Ensure customers leave excited about the company, product, facility, and team.
- Act as a backup to events staff if needed.
- For stores with hotshops:
- Share the glassblowing process with customers.
- Know daily what glassblowers are making and communicate this to customers.
- Label glassybaby with names for glassblowers to reference.
- Maintain a clean space for customers to watch the process.
- Communicate with managers and other sales associates about customer inquiries as needed.
- Assist with inventory management, including exchanges, accurate POS data entry, monthly inventory, and daily cycle counts.
Requirements
- Work as a proactive, supportive, self-directed team member with a positive attitude.

- Knowledgeable about glassybaby products and their creation process.
- Strong organizational skills with a high standard of attention to detail.

- Ability to think quickly and critically, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Manage difficult situations calmly, professionally, and respectfully.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to operate an iPhone, iPad, and Outlook.
- Read and address emails as necessary.
- Experience with NetSuite and Shopify software (preferred).
Qualifications
- High School diploma, equivalent, or enrollment preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Luxury brand sales experience preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Ability to work in conditions impacted by weather and climate.
- Must be able to speak and hear well enough to conduct conversations.
- Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise levels.
- Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; frequent reaching with hands and arms at, below, and above waist level.
- Ability to use a step ladder.
