About The Role
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a no-fee program designed to assist men and women in completing their rehabilitation programs. The organization is deeply appreciative of the contributions made by its valued employees, who play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the effectiveness of the programs.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all customers and donors' needs are met through a genuine greeting and prompt, courteous assistance.
- Stock priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor.
- Aid in the maintenance of the store and donation area, keeping it clean, neat, and organized.
- Perform cleaning duties as assigned by management.
- Follow all POS/Cash Register policies in accordance with TSA Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain safety and compliance standards.
- Attend required Monthly Store Meetings.
- Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
- Provide quality assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
- Courteously assist donors in removing donated items from their vehicles and provide receipts.
- Separate and sort all donated materials into the proper containers and stack them as instructed by management.
- Perform other written and/or verbal duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
- Pass background check, which includes a Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry check.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Demands
- Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Perform various repetitive motion tasks.
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
The stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Part-time associates may be scheduled to work any part-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Salvation Army will comply with all governmental orders and any contractual obligations relative to COVID-19 safety measures, including mandatory vaccination of staff, if required. The Salvation Army will consider requests for exemptions from such requirements on either religious or medical grounds when available.
