About the Role
Join the Penguin Random House National Retail Accounts sales team as a Sales Assistant. This role provides sales and general administrative support to the Sales Director and National Account Managers, who promote titles across Penguin Random House imprints to two national bookstore accounts: Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, track, and assess sales data and run daily sales reports.
- Prepare Edelweiss collections and selling materials.
- Create seasonal and ad-hoc PowerPoint presentations.
- Communicate with various internal departments to obtain sales materials.
- Coordinate the placing, fulfilling, and tracking of orders.
- Perform general administrative duties for the department, including scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.
Requirements
- Prior retail experience; bookstore experience a plus.
- Strong interest in sales and publishing.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time.
- Superb analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Pay
The salary for this position is $55,000 per year.

Schedule
This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities. Candidates must be able to work from a commutable distance to the offices at 1745 Broadway, New York, NY (including the tri-state area: NJ, CT, & PA).
