About the role

Responsibilities

  • Possess an expert-level understanding of state tax laws and regulations.
  • Ability to serve as a leader who communicates, demonstrates, and enforces the firm’s Mission Statement and goals throughout their team.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and strong self-motivation and motivate the team. Must be able to work independently but also effectively delegate work.
  • Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, activities, and deadlines.
  • Deep experience working with Excel or Access, PowerPoint required.
  • Able to manage overall client relationships and ensure managers are cultivating a positive and motivating team environment.
  • Able to demonstrate and apply superior analytical ability and technical expertise with an ability to provide insightful analysis.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and persuasively.
  • Able to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; make effective decisions, identify underlying or hidden problems and patterns, and apply creativity and innovative thinking.
  • Able to anticipate new situations and/or changing demands and respond proactively.
  • Demonstrate initiative to accomplish financial goals and manage the economics of the overall book of business as well as economics of individual project engagements.
  • Some travel out of town, overnight for internal or client meetings and/or conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s (or advanced) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as a consultant
  • Exceptional communication skills (interaction with government officials, C-Suite, and staff/colleagues)
  • Proven Business Development skills
  • Analytical and able to solve complex problems in tight timelines
  • Able to coordinate, delegating, and managing others
  • Deep industry expertise of applicable taxes and regulations
  • Goal-driven personality with the ability to deliver measurable results
  • Understanding of accounting/finance and covered industries

Qualifications

  • Travel up to 10% to sites beyond the corporate office. Valid driver’s license.
  • Perform sedentary work – exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • See, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; sit, stand, walk, reach, pull, push and other similar.
  • Operate standard office/computer equipment.
