About the Role
The New Equipment and Modernizations Sales Operations Engineer (SOE) receives requests for proposals from Account Managers or other Sales channels, then determines the appropriate R.A Jones machine solution, develops the Cost/Pricing Worksheet, and prepares the proposal. When an order is received, the SOE prepares the Order Card and conducts the Order Card meeting at which point the order is handed off to the Project Manager. In this role, you are responsible for:
- Providing technical expertise and support to Area Sales Managers and customers for R.A Jones new equipment
- Configuring the machine to be quoted based on the RFQ Checklist submitted
- Aiding Area Sales Managers with machine capabilities and ballpark pricing for project screening
- Making preliminary reviews of customer's specifications to determine the appropriate stakeholders
- Preparing and submitting Firm Proposal Approval forms as needed for firm proposals
- Keeping the CRM system current for all assigned Opportunities
- Updating and keeping current all Cost Worksheet templates and all proposal templates for their assigned machine lines
- Preparing Order Card when a PO is received for a machine they proposed
- Conducting the Order Card Meeting and handing off to Project Management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combined experience with an emphasis on technical selling
- Blueprint reading skills required
- Strong customer service, leadership, and sales support skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Active listening, organized presentation, and effective writing skills
- Persuasive in interactions with others
- Strong working knowledge of computers applications including Microsoft Office Products (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel to customer locations as needed in support of sales
- Ability to present and communicate new equipment and modernizations offerings with technical confidence
