About the role
The Regional Sales Manager, ITS East, will be responsible for driving strategic growth and market expansion across the Eastern United States.
Responsibilities
- Drive regional revenue growth and market penetration for Seyond ITS solutions.
- Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with company revenue objectives.
- Build strategic relationships with:
- State DOTs
- Municipal transportation departments
- Toll authorities
- Transit agencies
- Engineering consultants
- ITS integrators
- Channel/distribution partners
- Identify, qualify, and develop new opportunities from early specification stages through project award and deployment.
- Influence project specifications and approved product lists through direct engagement with engineering firms and public agencies.
- Conduct technical presentations, lunch-and-learns, demonstrations, and customer workshops.
- Support pilot programs, field evaluations, and proof-of-concept deployments.
- Work collaboratively with consultants and agencies to position Seyond technologies within future roadway modernization initiatives.
- Support and enable Seyond’s distributor-first go-to-market strategy.
- Conduct joint customer meetings and strategic account planning with regional distribution partners.
- Aid partners with pipeline development, sales strategy, competitive positioning, and technical education.
- Ensure alignment between Seyond, channel partners, and end users throughout the sales process.
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and CRM discipline using HubSpot.
- Track project funding cycles, bid activity, infrastructure grants, and procurement timelines.
- Provide executive visibility into:
- regional sales activity,
- specification progress,
- pipeline health,
- competitive threats,
- and revenue forecasts.
- Partner closely with:
- Business Development
- Product Management
- Engineering
- Field Application Engineering
- Customer Success
- Represent Seyond at:
- ITS America
- regional ITS organizations
- transportation conferences
- customer events
- industry working groups
- Establish Seyond as a trusted thought leader within the ITS ecosystem.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in ITS, transportation technology, traffic systems, smart infrastructure, or related industries.
- Proven experience selling technology solutions into public-sector transportation markets.
- Strong understanding of:
- DOT procurement processes
- transportation funding cycles
- consultant-driven specifications
- competitive bid environments
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and long deployment timelines.
- Preferred experience with:
- LiDAR technologies
- Traffic detection systems
- Video analytics
- Edge computing
- Connected intersections
- Advanced traffic management systems
- Smart city infrastructure
- Familiarity with:
- ITS architecture
- traffic operations
- intersection safety applications
- multimodal detection
- roadway infrastructure systems
- Professional Skills:
- Strong executive presence and relationship-building ability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organized with strong CRM and forecasting discipline.
- Self-motivated and capable of operating independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ability to balance strategic account development with day-to-day sales execution.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in one or more of the following fields preferred:
- Business
- Engineering
- Transportation
- Urban Planning
- or related field preferred.
- Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 30–40% travel throughout the Eastern United States.
- Regular travel to customer sites, distributor locations, engineering firms, industry conferences, and transportation agencies is expected.
- Candidate must reside near a major airport within the territory.
