Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- determine market strategies and goals for each product
- obtain and coordinate data and information from staff and member groups
- research and develop lists of potential customers
- do market research to determine customer needs and provide information to other staff
- evaluate product and service marketability in terms of customers' technical needs
- follow up on sales leads and develop leads
- maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect target markets
- establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales
- work with sales support and staff to establish a communication path with the customer to ensure sales opportunities for products and services
- develop sales and marketing proposals for customers on technical products and services
- make presentations to users
- develop technical presentations and workshops
- maintain up-to-date awareness of activities, industry trends, and government regulations
- make regular sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads
- act to close deals and finalize contacts
- meet established sales quotas and revenue goals
- coordinate and participate in trade shows as determined by the company
- research, develop, and maintain long and short range sales and marketing plans
- produce regular reports and final plans for General Manager's approval
- maintain an up-to-date awareness of strategic plans and procedures to coordinate market plans
- monitor, analyze, and communicate sales data, via weekly call reports, to contribute to product/service planning
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Coaching/mentoring experience with less senior sales staff
- A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends
- Ability to travel up to 80%
