Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a fundamental grounding in nursing theory and practice and mastery of the medical management of psychiatric illness and substance use disorders.
- Manages a caseload of patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and coordinate care over time and across healthcare settings.
- Provides leadership in the development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of standards, policies, procedures, and critical paths to support the patient care delivery model.
- Oversees care coordination in acute, home care, and ambulatory care settings as feasible.
- Assists the healthcare team to achieve mutually agreed upon healthcare goals by providing necessary support, education and encouragement.
- Demonstrates advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills and knowledge of family dynamics.
- Provides direct care to patients in acute care, ambulatory care and home care settings.
- Performs advanced practice skills under the supervision of the Medical Director.
- Provides expert consultation for clinical issues promoting increased knowledge and skills for the consultee.
- Participates in the education, clinical research and mentoring of healthcare providers.
- Facilitates patient/family education in area of expertise.
- Annually completes mandatory safety infection control, BLS, and ACLS/PALS.
- Prescribes medications as permitted by licensure.
Requirements
- Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
- Masters of Science Degree, Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Specialty certification in Psychiatric Mental Health required.
- Baccalaureate in Nursing.
- Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
- Two years related experience as RN in acute care hospital setting and preferred 1-2 years experience as a nurse practitioner.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts.
- Must have completed a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
- Must hold a current license to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of Massachusetts.
- Must have at least two years of related experience as an RN in an acute care hospital setting.
- Preferred additional experience includes one to two years as a Nurse Practitioner.

Pay
Earnings range based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
