About the role
The Sage Enterprise Team Manager (TM) will lead, manage, and hold accountable a team of service professionals to deliver profitable, high-quality services to customers. The TM oversees the business, technical, and people aspects of client engagements, ensuring the quality of deliverables provided by their team. Responsibilities include developing and managing the overall customer experience for an assigned group of clients, ensuring high-quality engagement work products, owning project delivery and success, leading delivery teams, and ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
The Team Manager will also focus on maintaining and expanding service revenue opportunities by identifying, developing, and closing client opportunities, including managing deal structure to address client needs and ensure profitability. The role supports pre-sales efforts for existing clients and requires staying current with ERP and industry trends, maintaining expert-level proficiency in Sage X3 and/or Sage 500 systems, and continuous learning regarding add-on products and services.
Responsibilities
- Leadership, Management, and Accountability for Consultants (20% of time)
- Develop, coach, and manage a team of consultants while ensuring utilization targets and work-life balance.
- Performance management of team members, including project performance and professional development.
- Work with the Consulting Manager to build team member skills for current and future client delivery needs.
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports to provide feedback.
- Partner with senior management for career path planning, coaching, and consultant placement/allocation.
- Complete quarterly and yearly performance conversations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Foster camaraderie and teamwork within the team.
- Monitor and direct team members to adhere to company policies, initiatives, processes, and methodology.
- Oversee key performance indicators such as service revenue, billable hours, and other KPIs.
- Client Retention (40% of time)
- Manage relationships with clients, maintaining frequent contact with client staff and senior executives.
- Proactively create opportunities for client interactions to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Ensure client experience and project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and satisfaction.
- Implement communication strategies to promote team accomplishments and review project status.
- Maintain ongoing processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and key strategic contact for assigned clients.
- Develop industry and business expertise to benefit the team’s intellectual property.
- Coordinate activities with Account Managers/Executives on active clients.
- Service Revenue (20% of time)
- Oversee revenue and budget responsibility for individual projects with assigned clients.
- Structure consulting engagements to meet customer requirements and ensure profitability.
- Lead efforts to build client relationships, including qualifying projects and delivering presentations and statements of work.
- Identify and position opportunities outside the current engagement scope.
- Develop statements of work for client initiatives.
- Work with senior management to develop and implement pricing strategies for new statements of work.
- Execute sales strategies in conjunction with the senior management team and/or Account Manager.
- Demonstrate business acumen and understanding of key business drivers.
- Project Ownership for Existing Accounts (20% of time)
- Direct and manage the overall and day-to-day execution of client projects to ensure quality deliverables on time and within budget.
- Provide guidance to consulting teams on key project issues.
- Report project status and relevant business metrics to the Consulting Manager.
- Provide timely timesheet approval and invoice review.
Requirements
- Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, quality assurance, or equivalent (required).
- Advanced degree (preferred).
- Experience & Skills
- Consulting background with a record of delivering complex technical solutions within defined timeframes and budgets.
- Strong project management skills, including prioritization and meeting deadlines.
- Strong business expertise and understanding of business needs to ensure technical solutions deliver customer value.
- More than five years of experience working with technical applications, including strong knowledge of process methodologies.
- Successful track record of delivering on business objectives and performance metrics.
- Experience in team management, scheduling, and budgets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Office 365 applications.
- Deep understanding of consulting, practice products, and client business, including:
- Business acumen (client business drivers).
- Financial analysis (e.g., ROI & TCO).
- Problem-solving.
- Prior experience with pre-sales activity or account planning (desirable).
- Understanding of consulting as a business, including translating customer requirements into solutions.
- Understanding of corporate financial practices and principles.

Pay
Base salary range: $125,000 to $165,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus in accordance with the company’s plan. The quoted pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors such as experience, education, skills, and internal equity may be considered in extending an offer.
