About the Role
Under the supervision of the Saganing Food & Beverage Supervisor, welcome and seat guests in a timely, professional, and courteous manner while providing quality guest service. Use the MICROS system to register and close all sales as appropriate and properly reconcile all financial transactions and liabilities resulting from operations.
Responsibilities
- Remain aware of activities in the dining room to provide fast and courteous service to guests.
- Maintain and update seating charts; manage wait lists and schedule dining reservations.
- Answer basic questions guests may have about menus.
- Quote prices and describe features of items for which money is received.
- Read and record totals shown on POS tape and verify against cash on hand.
- Cash out server tickets and check identification for credit card payments and SELC complimentary transactions.
- Understand and follow all department policies, specifically MICROS POS policies.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment; keep stations stocked and balanced at the end of each shift (e.g., mints, rolled silverware, toothpicks, napkins).
- Assist with the assembly and preparation of orders for guests.
- Answer phones and provide information.
- Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
- Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up clutter, and keeping the work area organized.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers at all times; focus on resolving customer concerns as a top priority.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

- Contact with guests to ensure accommodations are fulfilled.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to operate a POS system.
- Must have basic math skills and pass a written math/MICROS test with 80% accuracy or better.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet employment eligibility requirements.
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of cash handling, banking, or accounting.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles.
- Knowledge of guest service techniques.
- Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent guest service.

Physical Demands
- Frequent walking and use of hands, wrists, and fingers (e.g., serving water, menus, operating a POS, routine cash handling).
- Required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch as needed.
- Normal hearing, visual sharpness, and verbal communication skills.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment
- Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment with contact with the general public.
- Constant visual stimulation (e.g., neon lights on slot machines, changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs).
- Exposure to constant machine and crowd noise.
- Exposed to a high volume of stressful situations.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.
