About the role
The Mundy Companies, a Leader in the Industrial Maintenance, Services, and Construction Fields, is currently hiring for a long-term position in the Beaumont, Texas area.
Responsibilities
- Oversee projects and maintenance and ensure compliance of standards, processes, communications, training, and systems
- Maintain existence and awareness of a suitable and relevant health and safety policy
- Provide a safe workplace without risk to health
- Ensure safe plant and machinery, and safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances
- Provide adequate provision of first aid and welfare facilities and support
- Provide suitable and current information and supervision concerning health and safety policies, procedures and practices
- Conduct proper and timely assessment of risk to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from assessments
- Provide emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to the relevant authorities
- Liaise as necessary with customer and relevant authorities, and assist and cooperate concerning audits and remedial actions
- Ensure the workplace satisfies health, safety, and welfare requirements for ventilation, temperature, lighting, sanitary, washing, rest facilities and lunchroom facilities
- Prevent and take precautions against, or adequately control, exposure to hazardous materials, and danger from flammable, explosive, caustic, electrical, noise, radiation and manual handling risks
- Surveil and report on health and safety practices and systems
- Report all Mundy Incidents immediately to the Mundy Site Manager
- Conduct all incident investigations to determine the “Root Cause” for all incidents involving Mundy personnel
- Develop corrective action plans/procedures to minimize the risk for repeat incidents
- Actively participate in the Safety Awareness Program
- Maintain the Safety Awareness Data in a database so that the company can target problem areas
- Ensure corrective actions are in place to address the deficiencies reported through the Safety Awareness Program
- Conduct Daily Safety Audits on the site
- Complete First Report of Injury forms and forward to the company’s Workers Compensation Carrier within 24 hrs
- Ensure full compliance of the site’s inspection program related to ladders, slings/chokers, electrical tools, hoist, come-a-longs, fire extinguishers, eyewash/safety shower stations-Mundy locations, hoses, cranes, forklifts, etc
- Maintain updated Material and Documentation in all Safety & Health Manuals
- Enforce adequate housekeeping in and around all Mundy Facilities
- Ensure adequate housekeeping measures are in place in the business units where our employees are performing individual tasks on a daily basis
- Develop site specific training material and tests on an as needed basis
Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as a Safety Technician in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment
- Must be flexible at all times
- Roles and responsibilities are subject to change based on the immediate needs of the site

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
