About the role
Tindall Corporation seeks a Safety Inspector to join our team. This entry-level position requires 1-2 years of safety experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or industry.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine plant safety inspections of production areas, yard operations, maintenance shops, and mobile equipment to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, and regulatory compliance gaps.
- Bring awareness of findings to plant leadership.
- Support environmental compliance activities as assigned.
- Affiliate with mobile equipment safety monitoring (forklifts, cranes, loaders, yard trucks).
- Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents, near misses, property damage, and injuries to help gather facts, conduct interviews, and document findings for root cause determination and preventive actions.
- Affiliate with maintaining compliance with applicable safety regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, such as maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safety records.
- Affiliate with safety training and employee engagement, including new employee safety orientation, training, and toolbox talks.
- Affiliate with safety file maintenance, training records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
- Affiliate with safety equipment management, inspecting safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, emergency equipment, and fall protection equipment.
- Participate in safety committee meetings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Entry-level position: 1-2 years of safety experience preferred but not required.
- Manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety principles.

- Strong communication skills.

- Ability to recognize hazards.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk throughout the plant and yard frequently.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and gloves.
