Safety Superintendent

About the role

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Superintendent to support various data center projects in the DMV area. This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive approach to workplace health and safety on a large-scale, high-visibility project.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enforce health and safety policies that build a safe, proactive jobsite environment.
• Design and implement safety programs, plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Track safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates.
• Spot risks early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are put in place.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
• Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
• Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
• Keep accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
• Supervise subcontractors and contractors to ensure work meets EHS requirements.
• Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses; follow through on corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures at all times.
• Contribute to additional safety initiatives and requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on construction safety experience.
• Previous data center experience is required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.
• Ability to produce clear reports, develop procedures, and implement effective safety solutions.
• Excellent hazard recognition, data analysis, and risk assessment skills.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Professional presence on-site and ability to lead teams through incidents or emergencies with composure.

Travel is required throughout the DMV area. Pay range: $48.00/hr – $53.00/hr. Start date: ASAP.
