Safety Specialist| Port Washington, WI
About the role
HazTek is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to support a long-term data center construction project in Port Washington, WI.
Responsibilities
- Embody HazTek's Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Dependability, Leadership, and Accountability
- Oversee all aspects of project safety while ensuring compliance with OSHA, client, and site-specific safety requirements
- Conduct daily jobsite safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments
- Lead daily safety meetings, morning huddles, toolbox talks, and safety stand-downs
- Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors before incidents occur
- Attend General Contractor safety meetings and collaborate closely with project leadership
- Ensure compliance with fall protection, MEWP operations, spotter requirements, and safe material handling practices
- Complete incident investigations, accident reports, and corrective action plans
- Promote a proactive, team-oriented safety culture where every worker goes home safely each day
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience required
- Previous data center construction experience strongly preferred
- CHST certification required
- OSHA 30 Construction certification required
- Current First Aid/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and data center construction safety standards
- Experience managing fall protection, MEWP safety, spotter safety, safe lifting/ergonomics, and laceration prevention
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with field personnel while maintaining a strong safety culture

This is a long-term project with an anticipated duration through September 2027, working Monday–Saturday on a day-shift schedule
