Safety Specialist - Jacksonville, NC

Safety

Lead programs aimed at reducing workplace incidents through training, job safety analysis, and innovative solutions.
Conduct regular facility and job site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and drive accountability.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all federal, state, and local regulations.

Fleet & Compliance

Ensure driver logs are completed accurately and on time.
Train drivers in proper use of electronic logging devices (ELD)
Investigate, track, and report all vehicle accidents and claims
Maintain driver qualification files and ensure compliance with DOT regulations

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED
• 3–5 years of safety experience required; DOT experience preferred
• Experience in manufacturing, transportation, or construction environments preferred
• Familiarity with ELD systems preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
