Safety Specialist

Responsibilities

• Administers, coordinates, and supports safety programs, compliance, research, and policy development across all JEA operations.
• Conducts frequent field site visits to observe work practices, identify risks, evaluate compliance, and support safe operations.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for addressing safety issues and collaborates with management and employees on corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

High school diploma (GED) with at least seven years of utility construction or field operations experience, including progressive crew oversight and involvement in safety planning and procedures; or a bachelor’s degree with at least three years overseeing a utility or construction safety program. Direct utility construction or maintenance experience is preferred.
